Friday Favorite--The Photography of David W. Ammerman

Gorgeous, isn't it?

Today I am doing something a little bit different for my Friday Favorites feature.  It's the dead of winter.  Everything is brown and ugly.  I thought we could all use a bit of color in our lives today.  So instead of taking you to another etsy shop, I want to show you some of the beautiful photographs my husband, David, has taken.

A few years ago, David bought himself a really nice camera, and he has jumped into photography with both feet.  He has taken a couple of classes, bought a few books on using his new equipment, done lots of research online, and spent hours taking lots and lots of pictures.  So far this is just a hobby.  Maybe someday it will become more than that.  He hasn't sold any of his work yet, but I think he could.  He has a very good eye, and he gets better every day.  I'm proud of his journey into artistic endeavors!  So, here are a few of my favorite flowers.

The columbine in the first picture is from our own garden last spring.  The rest of these pictures were taken, with permission, in a private garden in Valley, Nebraska.  This is just a tiny sampling of what he took that day.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at a few of David's flowers.  I will, from time to time, post more of his lovely work.

We would love to hear what you think!  Please post your comments below!

Have a wonderful weekend!
Lisa

  1. Awesome photographs! Thank you for sharing your husband's flower photos with us! I know that right now, when I look outside, it looks gray and bare... Seeing these lovely flower photos brightened my morning! Looking forward to seeing more of David's work as time goes on.

  3. These pictures are so pretty. It makes me even more anxious for Spring!! If you are interested in taking even more flower pictures, go to the annual flower show at St. Cecilia next weekend. I do not know what their theme is this year, but the creativity is overwhelming!! (Plus it smells wonderful!!) Like these pictures, it is a great reprieve from the "blah" out there right now.

  4. As if David needed another hobby! His work is really coming along...very nice!

These pictures make me anxious for spring as well. Since we are now under contract on a house (one with a great spot for a garden) I have been dreaming of Spring-Time yard work and how my garden will come together this summer. The place also has lots of landscaping that's already been done so it will be fun to see what pops up on its own in a few months!
